We are looking for Senior Heavy Duty Mechanic at our Santa Clarita Hauling Division.

Requirements

Methods, materials, tools and techniques used in vehicle and equipment repair and maintenance.
Diagnosing mechanical problems and performing repairs.
Safety practices and procedures.
Working knowledge of: Mechanical design and fabrication.
Working knowledge of: Electrical systems, including computerized induction/ignition systems.
Skill in: Use of power and hand tools.
Skill in: Use of diagnostic equipment.
Skill in: Acetylene and electric arc welding.
Skill in: Operation of vehicles and equipment for diagnostic purposes.
Ability to: Work varying shifts, weekends and holidays.
Ability to: Diagnose problems and make repairs in the field.
Ability to: Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
Ability to: Work extended hours outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
Ability to: Prepare and maintain records and reports.
Ability to: Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and the public.
Ability to: Follow written and verbal instructions, including manufacturers’ service specifications.
Ability to: Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Minimum of 5 years exp. on heavy duty diesel and gasoline truck repair.
Valid California Driver's License and a clean driving record, required

Responsibilities

Will perform major and minor engine repairs and accessories
Will respond to road call and perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Diagnoses/rebuild/repair vehicles and equipment.
Performs detailed inspections and preventive maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, remove and repair engines.
Remove and replace transmissions and brakes.
Repair, mount and dismount tires.
Repair and replace hydraulic hoses.
Remove and replace breaks
Prepares and maintains records and reports.
Must follow all safety procedures and policies.
