The Senior Program Manager (Healthcare) will lead a large, complex, cross-functional healthcare program for a critical enterprise client. This role is accountable for establishing and maintaining program governance, ensuring clear visibility into status and risks, and driving structured coordination across multiple internal teams through influence rather than authority. This is a high-impact role focused on stabilizing and scaling program operations in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment. The Senior Program Manager will take ownership of program structure, governance, and execution discipline, while partnering closely with internal stakeholders and client leadership to ensure alignment and forward progress. Success in this role requires strong program management expertise, executive communication skills, and the ability to quickly assess and improve programs that are not operating effectively. The Senior Program Manager reports to the Director of Healthcare Program Management and works closely with Delivery, Technical, Support, Advisors, and Growth partners to ensure consistent, high-quality execution across one of Press Ganey’s most complex client engagements.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in program, project, or client delivery management, preferably in consulting, healthcare, health tech, or enterprise SaaS environments
  • Demonstrated success managing large, complex programs with multiple workstreams, stakeholders, and competing priorities
  • Experience stabilizing or turning around programs that are not operating effectively
  • Strong executive presence, with the ability to communicate clearly and confidently with senior stakeholders
  • Proven ability to influence without authority and drive alignment across cross-functional teams
  • Strong organizational and documentation discipline, with the ability to create structure in ambiguous environments
  • Comfort operating in fast-moving, high-pressure environments with competing priorities
  • Bachelor’s degree required

Nice To Haves

  • Healthcare experience is helpful but not required; strong program management experience is prioritized
  • Experience with project management platforms such as Wrike, Teamwork, Smartsheet is a plus
  • Project Management certifications such as PMP or PgMP are a plus
  • Master’s degree (MBA, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or related field) is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end program coordination and governance for a large, high-complexity client engagement
  • Establish and maintain clear program structure, including centralized tracking of workstreams, dependencies, and deliverables
  • Develop and manage an integrated program plan across multiple teams and workstreams
  • Create and maintain structured action tracking and ensure accountability across all stakeholders
  • Operate as the central coordination point across internal teams to ensure alignment and clarity
  • Establish and enforce program governance standards, including meeting cadence, reporting structure, and escalation pathways
  • Centralize program materials, ensuring a single source of truth for status, risks, and decisions
  • Facilitate governance meetings and ensure outcomes, actions, and ownership are clearly documented and followed through
  • Ensure consistent program visibility for both internal stakeholders and client leadership
  • Own the escalation process, including identification, documentation, and structured resolution of issues
  • Rapidly assess program health and identify areas of risk, misalignment, or inefficiency
  • Drive cross-functional response during escalations, ensuring clear ownership and timely resolution
  • Provide clear, concise updates to stakeholders at all levels, including executive audiences
  • Assess and stabilize programs that are not operating effectively, particularly in early or high-risk stages
  • Identify gaps in governance, coordination, and communication, and implement structured improvements
  • Develop recovery plans for at-risk timelines or deliverables
  • Bring structure and clarity to ambiguous or fast-moving program environments
  • Coordinate closely with implementation managers (workstream project managers), technical teams, support, and product partners to align execution
  • Ensure teams are working toward shared priorities with clear ownership and accountability
  • Balance hands-on coordination during high-risk periods with stepping back once stable processes are in place
  • Partner with Growth and Advisors to maintain alignment while reinforcing clear ownership boundaries
  • Engage directly with senior stakeholders, demonstrating strong executive presence and clear communication
  • Adjust communication style across audiences, from detailed technical coordination to concise executive updates
  • Surface tradeoffs, risks, and decisions early, ensuring stakeholders have clear visibility
  • Utilize program management tools such as Wrike to manage program plans, action tracking, and reporting
  • Develop and refine program templates, governance standards, and best practices
  • Leverage AI tools to improve efficiency in summarization, communication, and reporting
