About The Position

Our US East Environmental business is looking for a Senior Health & Safety Specialist to join our Atlanta area team! This is an exciting opportunity for you to provide onsite support within an active manufacturing facility to support our client’s needs. The facility is located approximately 40 to 50 miles northwest of Downtown Atlanta and you will need to be able to be at the facility at least 3 days a week. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in developing OSHA‑compliant health and safety programs and procedures that span multiple operations and equipment types, while also taking the lead on creating detailed lockout/tagout procedures, conducting comprehensive job hazard assessments, and performing thorough incident investigations. Your work will directly support OSHA reporting requirements, program auditing, and continuous improvements in client safety performance. As a trusted partner to our client, you will regularly review and refine health and safety programs to ensure ongoing compliance, completing routine facility inspections, and delivering impactful employee training. You will conduct industrial hygiene surveys, including air and noise monitoring, and help facilitate safety committee and emergency response team discussions. Your observations and site visit documentation will translate into actionable deliverables that strengthen day‑to‑day safety operations. You may also support environmental compliance data collection and will take on specialized projects that include LOTO procedure development, JHA creation, and participation in DOT/RCRA seminars. This is a hands‑on, influential position for someone passionate about creating safer workplaces and helping clients achieve their operational goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety or a related field of study
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in Health & Safety roles, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting
  • Certified OSHA 30 Hour trained
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 45001, OSHA regulations, and other relevant standards
  • Ability and willingness to work onsite in a manufacturing environment with physical demands (climbing ladders, walking/standing on concrete, potential respirator use)
  • Ability to effectively communicate with the client, line supervisors, and skilled workers in a manufacturing setting
  • Strong technical writing skills

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or similar certifications are preferred
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) preferred
  • Bilingual (Korean and/or Spanish) is a plus and a strong differentiator

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and review performance against health, safety, and environment (HSE) key performance indicators (KPIs) and patterns of behavior within the area of responsibility. Take action to improve performance and to resolve noncompliance with the organization's HSE policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions.
  • Manage a portfolio of projects while reporting to senior colleagues.
  • Manage important client relationships with guidance from senior colleagues, or oversee relationship management with a group of more transactional clients and customers.
  • Use the organization's formal development framework to identify the team's individual development needs. Plan and implement actions, including continuing professional development specified by professional or regulatory institutions, to build their professional capabilities. Provide informal training or coaching to others throughout the organization in own area of expertise to enable others to improve performance and fulfill personal potential.
  • Act as subject matter expert in an area of technology, policy, regulation, or operational management for the team. Maintain external accreditations and in-depth understanding of current and emerging external regulation and industry best practices through continuing professional development, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
  • Document complex "as is" and "to be" processes and describe the changes required to migrate to the "to be" capability to record accurately the change required.
  • Collate and conduct analysis of the tactical and operational information gathered through interviews and research to support the diagnosis of underlying client issues and problems and the design of single solutions.
  • Identify and evaluate complex, expertise-led solutions against a range of criteria to find the ones that best meet business needs.
  • Gather information and resources, draft and complete proposals, and fulfill all process requirements (in terms of deadlines, documentation, etc.) in response to complex bid solicitations, request for proposal, and request for tender to create the best chance of being awarded the contract.
