About The Position
This position supports the California Department of Public Health's (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by organizing, coordinating, and directing a statewide program to certify supervisors and operators of radiation machines. The Senior Health Physicist (Sr. HP) oversees the inspection and certification of X-ray training schools and manages candidate testing, and the test development contract. The Sr. HP also assists and participates in the Radiologic Technologist Certification Committee (RTCC). Overnight or extended travel may be required in support of these duties. The Sr. HP works under the general direction of the Supervising Health Physicist, Certification Section Chief.
