About The Position

As a Senior Health Economist, you’ll own the end-to-end economic narrative that translates Twin Health’s AI-driven outcomes into a rigorous, defensible value proposition. You will serve as the strategic bridge between complex claims data and C-suite decision-making, architecting the actuarial models that prove our ROI to health plan leaders while leading the charge on high-impact peer-reviewed evidence. By anchoring our clinical breakthroughs in ironclad economic logic, you will be the definitive voice that turns raw data into the market-moving insights required to scale Twin’s impact across the healthcare ecosystem.

Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years in Health Economics, Medical Economics, or Actuarial Science. At least 2 years should be in a client-facing or commercial-facing capacity.
  • CMS Knowledge: Practical experience with Medicare Advantage (Part C), specifically how Star Ratings and Risk Adjustment affect payer profitability.
  • Education: PhD or Master’s in Health Economics, Public Health, or a related quantitative field.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced SQL and R/Python skills are mandatory. You must be able to pull your own data and build your own models from scratch.
  • Comfortable representing the organization externally at conferences, panels, and client meetings.
  • Willingness to travel to join key on-site presentations with Health Plan actuaries and Benefit Consultants to defend Twin’s ROI methodology. Presenting original research at 2–3 major national HEOR or Healthcare conferences per year.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience contributing to white papers, publications, conference presentations, or client-facing materials.
  • Ability to clearly explain complex economic concepts to non-technical audiences without sacrificing rigor.

Responsibilities

  • Commercial Analytics & Deal Support
  • Sales Engineering: Join sales calls with Health Plan Actuaries to explain our methodology for calculating PMPM (Per Member Per Month) savings and ROI.
  • CMS Strategy: Translate CMS Star Ratings, HEDIS requirements, and quality incentive structures into clear, credible value narratives that demonstrate how Twin supports payer performance and bonus attainment.
  • Research & Evidence Generation
  • Manuscript Development: Serve as lead author or key contributor on at least 2 peer-reviewed publications annually, focusing on the financial and clinical efficacy of our platform.
  • Lead the development of white papers, market briefs, and executive perspectives aligned with the Center’s publication agenda.
  • Claims Analysis: Analyze large-scale claims datasets (e.g., MarketScan, Optum, CMS LDS) to identify high-opportunity patient cohorts that would benefit most from our intervention.
  • Data Visualization: Create high-fidelity charts and exhibits for white papers and sales decks that make complex economic data easy for a non-technical audience to digest.
  • Economic Modeling & Framework Development
  • Design, maintain, and evolve reputable economic and actuarial models that underpin Twin’s published insights, client-facing tools, and strategic perspectives.
  • Ensure models are credible, defensible, and aligned with how payers evaluate cost, value, and sustainability across Commercial and Medicare Advantage environments.
  • Use modeling outputs to inform publications, presentations, and executive discussions.
  • Market Engagement & Travel
  • Travel to meet with payers, employers, consultants, and strategic partners to understand real-world challenges and perspectives.
  • Represent the Center at industry conferences, panels, and working sessions as a subject-matter expert in metabolic health economics.
  • Participate in on-site client briefings and executive discussions to contextualize economic insights, models, and frameworks.
  • Expected travel is 20-25%
