About The Position

Oculii (a subsidiary of Ambarella, Inc.) is a global leader in high-resolution imaging radar technology, powering the future of autonomous systems. Our advanced radar perception software enhances the resolution and accuracy of existing radar chips, enabling breakthroughs in autonomous driving, robotics, and smart sensing applications. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Hardware Engineer to lead the design and development of cutting-edge radar systems operating at 60GHz and 77GHz. This role is ideal for someone with deep expertise in RF and high-speed digital hardware design, and a passion for building innovative products from concept to mass production.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in RF and high-speed digital hardware design.
• Proficiency in PCB design tools (e.g., Altium, Cadence).
• Experience with RF simulation tools (e.g., HFSS, ADS).
• Strong understanding of signal integrity, EMI/EMC, and thermal management.
• Experience with radar systems or other high-frequency applications is a plus.
• Familiarity with embedded systems and interface protocols.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of hardware projects for 60GHz and 77GHz radar systems.
• Design high-frequency RF PCBs and high-speed digital board layouts for complex embedded systems.
• Optimize PCB designs for noise reduction and signal integrity.
• Manage the full hardware lifecycle from prototyping to mass production, including collaboration with contract manufacturers.
• Design and simulate RF elements such as antennas, transmission lines, and waveguides.
• Perform full-module modeling and simulation using tools like Ansys HFSS to evaluate and optimize performance.
• Conduct radar system link budget analysis and performance validation.
• Contribute to hardware development processes in compliance with functional safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262).
• Collaborate with firmware and software teams; support debugging of hardware-related issues.
• Apply basic embedded software knowledge and interface protocols (SPI, I2C, CSI-2, Ethernet).
• Communicate effectively across teams and contribute to project planning and execution.
