This position influences product strategy, informs key technical decision-makers, works proactively with engineering team members, and ensures that hardware designs meet world-class standards for safety, reliability, and performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in automotive or commercial product hardware development.
  • Knowledge of analog/digital circuit design, ADC-based measurement circuits, and high-voltage sensing techniques.
  • Proficiency with hardware development tools such as Altium, Cadence, and SPICE-based simulation environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with engineering teams, perform design reviews, and resolve multi-disciplinary technical issues.
  • Self-Leadership: Enjoys positions of responsibility and authority. Desires and chooses to be in a self-directed working assignment.
  • Continual Improvement: Displays a consistent orientation toward producing the highest quality products or services, while keeping a focus on sustainability. Constantly looking for incremental improvements in work processes and results.
  • Delivers Results: Achievement-oriented, feeling a sense of urgency to reach goals on time, if not before.
  • Takes Initiative: Exhibits strong drive for results and success; conveys a sense of urgency and drives issues to closure; persists despite obstacles and opposition.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience with PCB layout constraints for high-voltage and low-noise precision measurement is a plus.
  • Knowledge of embedded systems and C/C++ is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Work on system-level and hardware-level architectures for voltage sensing, current measurement, isolation monitoring, temperature monitoring, and system-level diagnostics.
  • Develop and validate signal-conditioning circuits to support precise measurement of voltage, current, temperature, and insulation resistance.
  • Build, test, and characterize prototypes, ensuring designs meet performance, accuracy, reliability, and safety requirements.
  • Select components, create schematics, and collaborate with PCB (Printed Circuit Board) designers to implement robust designs appropriate for harsh automotive environments.
  • Participate in, or lead, hardware safety analyses including FMEDA (Failure Modes, Effects, and Diagnostic Analysis), DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), WCCA (Worst Case Circuit Analysis), and fault-injection test plans.
  • Work with the team to create detailed circuit designs for circuit monitoring hardware, including measurement networks, isolation devices, ADC (Analog to Digital Converter) interfaces, measurement ASICs (Application Specific Integrated Circuit)/AFEs (Analog Front End), balancing elements, and protection circuits.
  • Work closely with systems engineering, software engineering, test engineering, manufacturing, and program management to ensure seamless integration of electronic circuit hardware into customer-specific systems.
  • Support customer discussions and technical reviews.
  • Produce clear documentation, including electrical specifications, architecture diagrams, design reviews, test plans, and technical reports.
