About The Position

This position involves planning and coordinating work, training and motivating team members, and monitoring and evaluating their performance. The Senior Group Leader ensures team members can safely operate material handling equipment to move materials to and from storage configurations. The role also entails maintaining equipment structure and levels for safe and effective operation, providing appropriate equipment for material transport and storage, ensuring production output aligns with orders and customer requirements, and continuously striving for improvement in build and quality practices. A key aspect is identifying and eliminating safety and housekeeping hazards to minimize workplace accidents, while adhering to company health, safety, and environmental procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience supervising in an automotive or logistics-based industry.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating subordinates.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards.
  • Basic competence in subordinates’ duties and tasks.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • Proficient on MS Office, SAP, & ADP.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
  • Creative, flexible, and innovative team player.
  • Ability to understand any and all safety requirements and cautions.
  • Ability to perform the physical labor necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains equipment structure and level to accomplish the tasks in a safe, effective manner.
  • Provides appropriate equipment to ensure the safe transport and storage of all materials.
  • Ensure production output matches orders and that customer requirements are respected and shipments met.
  • Monitors and measures team member performance for accuracy of sequencing and delivery of commodities.
  • Continually strive for continuous improvement, ensuring all work carried out within the group conforms to established build and quality practices.
  • Identify and eliminate safety and housekeeping hazards to minimize workplace accidents.
  • Follow company policy regarding all health and safety and environmental procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
  • Directly supervises 5 or more employees within their department(s).
  • Indirectly supervises 5 or more employees within their department(s).
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
