About The Position

Senior Ground Systems Engineer for ESS Program Company: The Boeing Company Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) , Space, Intelligence and Weapon Systems (SI&WS), Ground and Mission Systems Engineering (GMSE) is looking for a Senior Ground Systems Engineer (Level 5) to join our team in El Segundo, California , to work on the Evolved Strategic Satellite Communication (ESS) Program . The selected candidate will support the Evolved Strategic Satellite Communications (ESS) program, a key component of the nation's nuclear command, control and communications (NC3) architecture. The ESS program is designed to provide protected connectivity, crucial for maintaining strategic communication capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
• 10+ years of experience with Systems Engineering processes and principles such as system architecture, interface definition, and requirements definition, decomposition, verification, and validation
• Experience with Command and Control (C2) software systems for Ground Systems
• Experience developing requirements for satellite operations
• Experience performing software and systems integration
• Experience performing requirements management using DOORS
• Active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance

Nice To Haves

• 5+ years of experience in Ground Systems Engineering
• 2+ years of experience leading or managing an engineering project or team
• Experience working with Government customers

Responsibilities

• Develops In Band Command and Control (IBC2) software requirements
• Defines and develops test requirements, test plans, procedures, and schedules
• Integrates In Band Command and Control software into ESS system
• Leads execution, analysis, and preparation of test results to support verification and validation
• Evaluates customer/operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces
• Leads analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture
• Leads analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success
• Leads, develops, maintains and identifies improvements the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes
• Interface with cross-functional teams, senior leadership, and external customers
