About The Position

Under the direction of the Director of Design & Digital Development, this position supports the designing of print publications, collateral and digital projects including webpages and apps for divisions, colleges and departments across the campus through provision of graphic design/art direction, as well as oversight of pre-and post-production processes.

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate is a creative and detail-oriented design professional with strong skills in developing innovative solutions for print and electronic media.
  • They possess thorough knowledge of computer graphics, pre-press production, and offset printing processes, along with professional proficiency in both Macintosh and PC platforms.
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office is essential, with additional proficiency in Adobe XD, After Effects, and Adobe Express, as well as familiarity with UX/UI principles and knowledge of HTML and CSS.
  • They excel at creating original illustrations, infographics, and layouts while managing projects effectively communicating design concepts clearly, adhering to budgets, and meeting tight deadlines.
  • With strong consultative and persuasive abilities, they maintain high quality standards with vendors and stay current on the latest software and hardware trends in graphic and web design.
  • Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.
  • Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures.
  • Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
  • Equivalent to a BA or BFA in Art, Graphic Design, or a related field, and four years of related professional or technical experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Five to seven years of professional graphic design and print production experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design Creation & Execution: Lead the design and execution of print and digital materials for university publications, special assignments, and multimedia stories, while collaborating with various departments and teams across campus.
  • Consultation & Collaboration: Manage graphic art projects, collaborate with developers and product managers, ensure brand consistency, and oversee vendor relationships.
  • During major emergency events, report to campus to fulfill appropriate communications-related operations in concert with other staff positions in the department.
  • Support and attend division, department, and campus related events as needed.
