The Auditor's Office, an independent agency of the City and County of Denver, delivers independent, transparent, and professional oversight to safeguard the public's investments in the City and County of Denver. The Auditor has Charter authority to audit Denver's agencies in accordance with generally accepted governmental auditing standards (GAGAS). Our in-depth audit reports are issued each month to the public through Denver's Audit Committee, look at how efficient and effective the city's services and programs are for the people of Denver and provide recommendations for improvement. Our work is performed on behalf of everyone who cares about the city, including its residents, workers, and decision-makers. We are seeking a Senior Government Internal Auditor with strong auditing skills and an ability to work independently. Government audit experience is preferred. Under the general direction of the assigned Audit Manager and Team Lead, the Senior Auditor executes performance and/or financial-related audits and evaluations of Denver government functions and activities, in addition to other duties assigned. This posting may be used to fill multiple vacancies. Auditor's Office employees are working a hybrid model. This position requires periodic in person attendance at our Downtown Denver location to meet the needs of the organization. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.
