About The Position

The position involves managing day-to-day import and export activities while ensuring compliance with trade regulations. The role is crucial for maintaining MTS' reputation as a trusted global importer and exporter, contributing to the organization's goals through expertise in trade compliance, documentation, and policy development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 5 years in trade compliance roles with hands-on import/export responsibilities
  • Advanced expertise in HTS classification and FTA, particularly KORUS
  • In-depth knowledge of import regulations and familiarity with export regulations
  • Proficiency in SAP and GTS
  • Familiarity with Salesforce
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and comfort with ambiguity
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and external partners
  • Up-to-date knowledge of evolving trade compliance requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects related to export/import activities independently.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with KORUS/USMCA FTA
  • Experience in auditing and reporting for trade compliance
  • Knowledge of ACE reports and 7501 entries

Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute HTS/SchB Product Classification
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs / BIS CFR Regulations
  • Conduct Free Trade Agreement (FTA) analysis and certification
  • Oversee Import & Export Documentation
  • Review Export Project Deliveries
  • Manage Export, Re-export, and Deemed Export Controls
  • Ensure compliance with Country of Origin and Product Valuation requirements
  • Maintain Import & Export Data Recordkeeping
  • Screen for Restricted Party Requirements
  • Conduct Sanctioned Party List Screening
  • Determine, apply for, and manage licensing requirements
  • Act as a liaison with global logistics and freight forwarders
  • Provide technical expertise for resolving import and export compliance challenges
  • Investigate and recommend corrective actions for trade compliance issues
  • Contribute to the development of global policies and procedures
  • Design and deliver training programs on trade compliance
  • Support periodic audits to maintain compliance with trade regulations
  • Assist with special projects as needed
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners for successful export project deliveries
  • Maintain thoroughness and accuracy in all work activities.
