This role supports the Customs clearance and movement of raw material and finished goods into Callaway’s U.S. Foreign Trade Zones from foreign suppliers and to/from global Callaway subsidiaries, ensuring adherence to C-TPAT program requirements. The specialist will work independently to obtain and distill financial, distribution, logistics, and Customs clearance documentation to support special trade programs and audit. The position is responsible for the research and assignment of applicable harmonized tariff codes for product imported and exported, and for communicating with government agencies like Customs and Border Protection to submit required information and ensure compliance. It also involves supporting the import, export, and disposition of goods for all Callaway Brands, applying special programs, identifying and resolving discrepancies, monitoring C-TPAT compliance, supporting onsite training, directing brokers, and monthly reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in International Relations, Business, or related field plus 5 years of experience working in an import, export and logistics role.
  • In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, 7 years of experience working in an import, export and logistics role.
  • Expertise/knowledge in Foreign Trade Zone, Customs Brokerage, Logistics or Inventory experience.
  • Experience in ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of Foreign Trade Zone regulations and warehouse operations.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience related to assignment of U.S. Harmonized Tariff Code classifications to include apparel and footwear.
  • Knowledge of C-TPAT (Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) requirements for importers.
  • Must have legal right to work in U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Customs clearance and movement of raw material and finished goods into Callaway’s U.S. Foreign Trade Zones from foreign suppliers and to/from global Callaway subsidiaries and ensures adherence to C-TPAT program requirements.
  • Work independently to obtain and distill financial, distribution, logistics, and Customs clearance documentation to support special trade programs and audit.
  • Responsible for the research and assignment of applicable harmonized tariff codes for product imported and exported.
  • Communicate with government agencies, such as Customs and Border Protection, to submit weekly required information and to ensure Callaway’s trade programs are in compliance to applicable regulations.
  • Support the import, export, and disposition of goods for all Callaway Brands.
  • Application of special programs (Generalized System of Preferences, Free Trade Agreement, special trade programs) and audit of eligibility.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies and inventory variances through communications with warehouse, supply chain, logistics, IT, and foreign trade zone software provider.
  • Monitor site adherence to C-TPAT program guidelines and reports deficiencies to management and Corporate Security departments.
  • Support onsite training for Callaway employees to comply with C-TPAT and FTZ regulations.
  • Direct broker to properly submit goods for Customs clearance or move in bond as special needs arise.
  • Monitor broker compliance and adherence to Callaway’s procedures and classification requirements.
  • Monthly reporting to gauge activity and duty savings by program.
  • May occasionally work extended hours or weekends depending on project needs and seasonal demands.
  • Travel required to Monterrey, Mexico 1-2 times per year.
  • May perform normal office administrative functions remotely once per week.
