About The Position

Moderna is seeking a strong team contributor to support a wide range of activities within the global payroll function. This role will support all aspects of our multi-entity, multi-state U.S. payroll and equity activity, as well as support our international processing cycles. A successful candidate will have Workday payroll experience, strong attention to detail, ability to responsibly manage confidential information, and maintain strong adherence to compliance and data integrity requirements. Reporting to the Director, Global Payroll, you will be responsible for supporting full cycle payroll processing for our U.S., as well as our international population.

Requirements

  • Candidates with an Accounting degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ hands-on experience processing payroll in Workday.
  • Skilled at utilizing ADP SmartCompliance for U.S. and Canada Tax compliance.
  • Must already hold work authorization in US and be able to maintain that status without the need for future sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and/or ability to analyze large quantities of data.
  • Must be able to demonstrate strong communication and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with compliance requirements within a public company.
  • Experience with outsourced payroll delivery model.
  • Experience with multi-state/multi-entity processing.
  • Experience with equity transactions preferred.
  • Knowledge of ex-pat and permanent transfer processing.
  • Experience with international processing is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support bi-weekly on-cycle and daily off-cycle payroll processing in the U.S. as well as monthly O.U.S. cycles.
  • Demonstrate expertise with ADP SmartCompliance for U.S. and Canada wage and tax compliance and administration.
  • Partner with our Global Compensation vendor on ex-pat shadow payroll info requests.
  • Partner with Global Mobility team on payroll-impacting events.
  • Coordinate with finance, tax, and legal documentation requests.
  • Monitor payroll inbox and assist with employee payroll inquiries and timesheets.
  • Coordinate with outsourced processing teams and vendors.
  • Assist with ad-hoc interdepartmental payroll related reporting.
  • Assist with state agency correspondence and compliance with documentation requests.
  • Assist with quarter-end and year-end payroll closing activities.
  • Assist with quarterly and annual audit requests, as well as year-end tax documentation prep.
  • Support ongoing process improvement projects internally as well as among cross functional teams.
  • Ongoing additional duties as needed – role will continue to evolve.
