Persistent Systems LLC is seeking a Senior Global Logistics Specialist. This position is remote; however, you must reside in the United States. As the Senior Global Logistics Specialist at Persistent Systems, LLC, you will be responsible for the management of both forward and reverse logistics as well as regulations compliance of goods across international borders. You will be proactively involved in the review process to deliver a level of expertise by examining key clauses, ensuring clarity, identifying potential risks, and recommending strategic remedies in the logistics portion of contracts to ensure that contract language is fair, enforceable, and protects company interests. This position will report to the Vice President of Business Operations at Persistent Systems, LLC.

  • Act as Liaison to the Trade Compliance Manager for the following: US Export Controls – Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) category of goods (tangible or intangible) adhering to respective parameters of the Commerce Control List (CCL). Reporting Export Sales
  • Obtaining Export License when shipping from the US as required
  • Verifying the Foreign Buyer and End-User – The Consolidated Screening List (CSL), restriction on goods
  • Act as strategic liaison between Persistent Systems, LLC’s Logistic, Production, and Strategy & Growth Departments
  • Identify and address risks to logistics related contract clauses
  • Define the relationship between the shipper and the carrier, outlining roles and expectations
  • When necessary, draft rebuttal terms of the contract to ensure it meets and protects Persistent Systems, LLC’s interests
  • Ensure that terms and responsibilities are clear for logistics and transportation, detailing how goods are transferred from sellers to buyers
  • Evaluate potential risks associated with delays or non-compliance with regulations
  • Outline the duties of carriers, shippers, and consignees, including delivery terms and liability limits
  • Management of the relationships between parties, transportation modes, insurance stipulations, and the safety of goods
  • Outlining agreed upon rates and/or fees between parcel carriers and shippers for transporting goods ensuring cost effective and timely delivery. Ensuring accuracy in the information provided and compliance with relevant permits and regulations
  • Develop contingency planning for alternative transportation services
  • Coordination of Shipment, tracking the movement of goods, ensuring timely delivery

  • Documentation Management – including BOL, Commercial Invoices, and Shipping Manifest
  • Negotiation of rates and carriers, balancing optimal cost and service quality
  • Problem solving to address and resolve logistics challenges, including delays, customs issues, discrepancies, etc.
  • Performance Monitoring. Tracking and reporting KPI’s and measuring on-time delivery (OTD’s)
  • Cross-functional collaboration between internal departments
  • Facilitations of Process/Policy creation and rollout of E2E specifically in support of International Logistics
  • 5 plus years of experience managing international logistics for a defense industry related business
  • 15 years of experience managing logistics teams within a lean manufacturing environment
  • 10 years of experience negotiating supply chain, shipping, and associated agreements
  • Must have the ability to gain a US security clearance
