About The Position

Arcadis is seeking an experienced Senior GIS Analyst/GIS Manager to join our Energy Transition team to help support and grow our expanding environmental permitting and siting business. This position will focus on technical leadership, team management, and client development support across multiple sectors including power generation and transmission, oil and gas, and renewable energies. You will work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, including biologists, engineers, archaeologists, planners, and technical specialists, to successfully execute environmental projects and develop innovative solutions for clients. As a Senior GIS Analyst/GIS Manager, you will be responsible leading and coordinating GIS solutions for a variety of projects. This will require expertise with ESRI products as well as the ability to perform highly detailed work on multiple, concurrent tasks, with exceptional quality in the work product; the ability to manage quality assurance/quality control for client deliverables; and assess best practices for GIS product deployment. In this role you will lead the advancement of Arcadis's Digital Initiative by leveraging ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise for data management and visualization via applications such as ArcGIS Hub, Project Delivery Sites, Operations Dashboard, Survey 123 and ArcGIS Field Maps. You will also be tasked with developing new, and improving on existing, GIS technologies/methodologies and workflows used to assist in the permitting of a variety of power, oil and gas, mining, rail and manufacturing clients throughout the U.S. Additionally in this role you will lead a team of approximately 30 GIS professionals with varying levels of experience and maintain multiple direct reports. You will provide guidance and mentorship for career growth and development, support resource allocation, foster collaboration, engage in conflict resolution, and ensure effective team communication within the GIS team. You will also support business development by working with client account teams by developing GIS strategies for new opportunities and identifying GIS solutions to fulfill client needs. You will assist with proposal development, scope preparation, and cost estimation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Sciences, Geographic Information Systems, Urban Planning, or a related field
  • 10+ years of GIS experience, including demonstrated expertise with ESRI products
  • 3+ years' experience leading a team of GIS practitioners
  • Ability to communicate effectively with company leadership, staff, and client colleagues
