A Senior Engineer should be able to prepare all types of geotechnical investigations the company performs. A Senior Engineer should have a Bachelorâs degree and preferably a Masterâs degree in civil engineering (or a closely related field) and should be a registered Civil Engineer in the State of California and is highly encouraged to register as a Geotechnical also Engineer. A Senior Engineer works independently on all but the most complicated engineering projects and his/her work is reviewed by the Associate Engineer and/or Principal Engineer. A Senior Engineer, under general supervision from an Associate Engineer and/or Principal Engineer is responsible for planning, developing, and coordinating many projects for which lowerâlevel engineers provide the primary input. A Senior Engineer is highly encouraged to contact current and prospective clients. A Senior Engineer prepares budgets, proposals, and SOQ documents (all subject to review by the Associate Engineer and/or the Principal Engineer).
