AECOM is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to serve as a technical advisor on transportation projects for our New York Metro Transportation group including NYC, Bloomfield, NJ and Piscataway, NJ office locations. We also have projects in the upstate New York regions including Albany and Buffalo. This role is available immediately. The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Prepare technical reports, specifications and construction documents. Evaluate ground conditions and understand their impacts on design and construction. Provide guidance to entry level Engineers. Perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision. Independently perform all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works. Prepare subsurface exploration programs, laboratory assignments and preparing geotechnical reports. Perform geotechnical investigations and construction inspections. Lead/manage geotechnical engineering investigations. Perform pile analysis, slope stability, settlement analysis, ground improvements and seepage analysis. Utilize computer software programs, such as: APILE, LPILE, GROUP, SEEPW, SLOPEW and GRLWEAP. Prepare geotechnical engineering reports and construction documents. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including structural engineers, architects, and environmental specialists. Develop and implement quality control procedures for geotechnical projects. Participate in client meetings and presentations to discuss project requirements and findings. Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in geotechnical engineering. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to team members.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering or related + 6 years of related experience and/or education or demonstrated equivalent.
  • Valid US Driver's License.
  • NY and NJ PE highly preferred or ability to obtain within a year.
  • Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 5 years of related work experience preferable.
  • Experience with pile Analysis , Slope Stability and seepage analysis.
  • Experience with computer software programs such as APILE, LPILE, GROUP, SEEPW, SLOPEW and GRLWEA.
  • Ability to prepare geotechnical engineering reports and construction.
