About The Position

SCS Engineers is looking for someone to join the Environmental Services (ES) team serving our western business unit, from our Long Beach, California office. We are a nationwide firm of growth-oriented Seller-Doers seeking a full-time Senior Environmental Professional ready to take on a senior position to help expand our Environmental Services practice into the areas of indoor air, soil vapor, methane, soil and groundwater assessment, mitigation, and remediation. How you can make an impact The senior environmental professional will wear several hats, including project financial responsibility, help grow the ES Practice, and serve as a Seller-Doer. As appropriate, you will also manage staff. As a Senior Professional, you will contribute to our growth by: Providing leadership within our indoor air, soil vapor, methane, soil, and groundwater assessment, mitigation, and remediation practice area and also help to grow and expand this practice area. Developing new and existing clients Assisting in staff utilization, mentoring, and development and, as needed, support the addition of new staff. Managing and being financially and technically responsible for projects Provide technical review of reports and mentorship/development of staff report preparation As a Seller you will contribute to our growth by: Playing a leading role in new client acquisition Effective communication with existing clients and cross-selling of services Collaborating with us as we develop strategies for expanding ways in which we contribute to our clients’ success Drafting and reviewing proposals Enhancing the value of the services that we perform for existing clients Seeking ways to increase project revenues, profits, as well add to the ES staff As a Doer you will work with a team of professionals, including SCS’ national experts in various fields, to assist our clients in resolving a wide variety of environmental challenges to include: Soil and Groundwater Remediation Soil Vapor and Vapor Intrusion-related Work Hydrogeologic Investigations Regulatory Agency Liaison and Interaction Brownfield Redevelopment

Requirements

  • Bachelors or Masters of Science in an environmental related science or engineering field required
  • 12+ years of related work experience required
  • 5+ years working at an environmental consulting firm required
  • Track record in designing and implementing mitigation/remedial measures (soil vapor extraction and vapor intrusion/methane mitigation systems) for various project sites
  • Professional registration (P.E. or P.G.) required
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Outstanding client service track record
  • Valid driver's license and driving record in good standing required
  • Personnel Management experience required
  • Project Management experience required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with various methane ordinances throughout southern California preferred
  • Business Development experience preferred
