About The Position

RESPEC seeks an experienced Senior Geochemist to join our team in either our Bozeman, MT or Vancouver, BC, location. Candidates interested in working from other RESPEC office locations including Denver, CO, Reno, NV, and Rapid City, SD are encouraged to apply. The Senior Geochemist will support the growth and long-term success of RESPEC’s mining geochemistry team by serving as a technical leader, business development contributor, and mentor to mid-level geochemists. This role works closely with senior staff to design, manage, and oversee high-quality geochemical characterization programs, predictive geochemical modeling, and the integration of sound geochemical principles within biogeochemistry projects. The ideal candidate brings demonstrated experience in project management, client engagement, and business development. Proficiency with geochemical modeling software is required, and experience with code-based data management and analysis tools is preferred. This position plays a key role in producing high-quality deliverables with support from mid-level staff. The Senior Geochemist is also expected to support business development efforts through travel, including attending and presenting at conferences, publishing in peer-reviewed journals when appropriate, strengthening existing client relationships, and collaborating across RESPEC business units and offices. Requirements

  • Advanced degree in geology, environmental science, engineering, or a related Bachelor’s degree with extensive industry experience
  • Minimum 10 years of experience consulting in mining geochemistry project work
  • Extensive experience designing and implementing geochemical characterization programs
  • Familiarity with regulatory jurisdictions and related permitting requirements
  • Proven track record as a technical expert in mine geochemistry
  • Project management experience
  • Demonstrated skills in client relations and business development
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record; position requires operating a company or personal vehicle during work hours for business-related travel
