About The Position

As a member of the COO Learning & Development (L&D) Team, the Senior Training Consultant consults with all levels of management to translate business requirements into learning and development strategy. Also ensures that learning and development interventions are aligned with the needs of the Business Unit and Northern Trust. A Senior Consultant is required to lead as well as work collaboratively with Training Consultants defining learning solutions that support the functional requirements. This role assists management in the development, implementation and maintenance of programs and curriculums that support management and development. Delivers and/or oversees the delivery of a wide range of learning and performance support solutions, likely to be highly visible and complex in nature. The Senior Consultant role will engage with local and regional practice leads and stakeholders to deliver the solutions required to support organizational goals at a local and global level This role is also responsible for the assignment of work to the assigned L&D Team and is responsible for input in the performance management process for the team.

Requirements

  • Is a technical expert with in-depth knowledge of Fund Accounting and strong knowledge of the business unit and corporate strategy. Has strong project management capabilities. Has excellent communication, marketing, relationship, facilitation and motivational skills. Shows strong judgment in the ability to formulate plans based on needs and leadership styles of key leaders. Executes efficiently and effectively. Leadership and organizational skills are essential.
  • Five to eight years of operational experience in the Fund Accounting operations function

Responsibilities

  • Consults with all levels of management to translate business requirements into learning and development strategy.
  • Develops and implements programs that support individual and organizational performance that are aligned with Business Unit and/or enterprise-wide needs.
  • Designs and implements proactive communication plans to ensure that learning and development initiatives are communicated effectively to global audiences.
  • Evaluates training solutions to identify areas for improvement and maintain highest quality delivery.
  • Identifies and evaluates applicability of new learning development vehicles, tools or programs developed by other organizations or vendors. Recommends purchase of programs to management, as appropriate.
  • Facilitates/conducts learning and training solutions.
  • Acts as project manager for major, complex and high-profile learning and development initiatives.
  • Keeps abreast of learning and development best practices and introduces them to Northern and the L&D Training Team.
  • Develop/Coordinate/deliver the i2i program mandatory curriculum within assigned geographic location.
  • Liaise with both managers and participants to outline program requirements.
  • Continuous evaluation of the program working with GFS and Stakeholders.
  • Design, develop and maintain a training curriculum for the Fund Accounting function within the Global L&D curriculums which can be implemented and delivered regardless of geographic location.
  • Coordinate/deliver the new hire curriculum within your geographic location.
  • Design and deliver training for existing systems and new system roll-outs.
  • Ensures that the L&D Functional learning and development interventions are aligned with the Business Unit and/or enterprise-wide needs.
  • Consult with areas in the business unit to provide ongoing support.
  • Work collaboratively with other Global Training Teams.
  • Lead global projects within the FA Training group
