About The Position

Senior Functional Consultant – Product Owner – Corporate & Institutional Banking (C&IB) About the Role We are seeking a seasoned Senior Functional Consultant to partner with Corporate & Institutional Banking (C&IB) businesses across Treasury & Cash Management, Payments, Trade Finance, Securities Services, FX, and Corporate Lending. This is a high-impact role designed for a domain expert who thrives at the intersection of traditional banking and modern technology. As a senior member of our financial services consulting team, you will serve as the bridge between complex business requirements and scalable technical solutions. You will be responsible for guiding top‑tier and regional financial institutions through large‑scale transformation and modernization programs by analyzing business processes, conducting current‑state assessments, designing target operating models, documenting functional requirements, and providing domain expertise across clients’ C&IB ecosystems.

Requirements

7–12+ years of Functional Consulting or Business Analysis experience within Corporate & Institutional Banking.
Strong domain expertise in Payments, Liquidity, Cash Management, Trade Finance, Corporate Lending, or FX.
Understanding of payment rails and standards.
Experience in requirement gathering, documentation, and process modeling.

Nice To Haves

Experience with major C&IB platforms.
Knowledge of regulatory frameworks.
Prior consulting (BIG 5) experience

Responsibilities

Lead business process reviews and functional assessments across C&IB products.
Document as-is processes, gaps, and opportunities for automation.
Define functional requirements, BRDs, FRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
Support design of target operating models.
Conduct deep dive current state assessments and discovery workshops to document operating models and identify operational bottlenecks.
Provide subject-matter expertise in cash management, payments, trade finance, lending, and liquidity.
Partner with Product Owners on roadmaps, features, and prioritization.
Participate in solution validation, UAT, and functional walkthroughs.
Drive the roadmap for legacy modernization, assisting clients in migrating from monolithic systems to microservices-based or cloud native architectures
Drive functional workstreams for payment modernization, trade digitization, and workflow improvements.
Support mapping of business capabilities to target-state platforms.
Identify opportunities for automation within middle and back-office operations
Manage relationships with executives, product owners, data and Technology heads
Act as a trusted advisor, managing expectations and navigating competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Facilitate sessions across Operations, Risk, Compliance, Technology, and Product teams.
Prepare executive-ready documents including business cases, process models, and impact assessments.
Ensure all functional designs adhere to global and local regulatory frameworks
Ensure alignment with KYC/AML, sanctions
Identify control gaps and propose remediation.
Develop test scenarios, oversee UAT, and validate functional requirements.
Support operational readiness and training.
