About The Position

Praescient Analytics is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to support a high-visibility Internal Revenue Service (IRS) modernization initiative focused on Unified Application Programming Interfaces (UAPI) and API-driven data access. This role provides hands-on technical leadership in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and mission-critical applications and APIs supporting federal enterprise systems. The ideal candidate is an experienced full-stack engineer who thrives in complex environments, mentors team members, and collaborates across engineering, data, and AI teams. This position requires U.S. citizenship. The role will be hybrid with work locations in Washington, DC or Lanham, MD.

Requirements

  • At least 8+ years of professional full-stack development experience
  • Proficiency in modern frontend frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue)
  • Strong backend experience using Node.js, Python, Java, Spark, or similar technologies
  • Experience designing and consuming REST and GraphQL APIs
  • Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Familiarity with OpenShift, Kubernetes, and Databricks
  • US Citizenship and the ability to undergo an IRS Minimum Background Investigation (MBI).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with microservices and container-based architectures (Docker/Kubernetes)
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and automated testing frameworks
  • Experience with performance optimization, application security, or hybrid web/mobile solutions

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, enhance, and maintain full-stack web applications and enterprise APIs
  • Lead technical design and implementation of scalable, maintainable, and secure systems
  • Develop RESTful and GraphQL APIs aligned with IRS and Treasury enterprise standards
  • Collaborate with data and AI engineers to integrate legacy and modern data sources
  • Support containerized deployments using OpenShift and Kubernetes
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines, authentication mechanisms, and cloud-based solutions
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level developers
  • Ensure adherence to coding standards, documentation, and agile best practices.
