Upstate Coin & Gold is offering an exceptional opportunity to become an expert in the exciting precious metals profession; in this role, no two days are ever the same. We are seeking a disciplined Senior Full-Stack Engineer to build and scale mission-critical systems. This role requires a "security-first" mindset and a deep appreciation for software craftsmanship. You will be responsible for architecting robust applications that handle complex data orchestration between modern web interfaces and enterprise back-office systems.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional experience in full-stack development with an expert-level command of Node.js, TypeScript, and modern frontend frameworks.
  • Deep experience designing and implementing asynchronous, event-driven systems using AWS SQS, Lambda, and SNS. You understand how to manage distributed state and eventual consistency.
  • Proven ability to architect high-availability systems with robust failover mechanisms, circuit breakers, and "five nines" reliability.
  • Expert in structured database schema design, normalization, and performance tuning. You prioritize data integrity and query optimization for high-concurrency environments.
  • Hands-on experience with sophisticated monitoring tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Datadog, or New Relic) to ensure proactive system health and rapid incident response.
  • Experience building and monitoring production systems where data precision and transactional integrity are non-negotiable.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degrees or technical certifications are highly desirable.
  • Meticulous Attention to Detail: You believe that "edge cases" are just cases that haven't happened yet. You exhibit a passion for data integrity and governance.
  • Security-First Mindset: You write secure code by habit, ensuring data is encrypted and protected against common vulnerabilities from the start.
  • High-Velocity Execution: Ability to multi-task and make sound architectural decisions in a fast-paced, commodity-trading environment.
  • Collaborative: Strong project management background with excellent oral and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience setting up new instances or deep integrations with NetSuite (REST API), Salesforce, or similar enterprise platforms.
  • Previous experience in Financial Services or the Precious Metals industry (understanding of ledger logic, compliance, or physical asset tracking).
  • Experience utilizing LLMs for development (e.g., Cursor, Copilot) and a solid understanding of building autonomous, multi-step agentic workflows.
  • AWS Certifications: Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer certifications are highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-availability full-stack applications using industry best practices (CI/CD, TDD, and clean code architecture).
  • Build and manage sophisticated integrations with ERPs (NetSuite) and CRMs (Salesforce) to ensure data integrity across our financial ecosystem.
  • Take ownership of system security, data privacy, and performance optimization to handle high-concurrency workloads.
  • Participate in rigorous code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to a culture of technical accountability and detail-oriented execution.
  • Implement LLM-based features and agentic workflows where they provide clear business value, while utilizing AI tools to accelerate personal and team development velocity.
