About The Position

The Senior Full Stack Engineer is a key member of Alterra Mountain Company’s software development team, responsible for building, enhancing, and maintaining resort websites and content management systems (CMS). This role partners closely with design, product, engineering, and external stakeholders to deliver scalable, high-quality digital experiences. As a senior contributor, you will help guide technical decisions, establish front-end best practices, and mentor teammates while ensuring exceptional performance, accessibility, and usability across platforms.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional experience in front-end or full-stack web development
  • Expert-level proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), React, and TypeScript
  • Strong experience with Next.js, including server-side rendering (SSR) and static site generation (SSG)
  • Working knowledge of Node.js and modern API integration patterns
  • Hands-on experience with headless and/or enterprise CMS platforms (Sanity and/or Sitecore preferred)
  • Deep understanding of HTML5, CSS3, responsive design, and modern styling methodologies
  • Experience with Git-based version control and CI/CD workflows
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage priorities, execute tasks independently, and follow through on commitments.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with performance monitoring, observability, and optimization tools
  • Familiarity with web accessibility standards (WCAG) and SEO best practices
  • Experience working in agile or iterative development environments.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms and modern hosting/deployment strategies
  • Previous experience leading, owning, or significantly influencing front-end initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain CMS-driven, customer-facing web applications.
  • Translate UI/UX designs into high-quality, accessible, and responsive user interfaces.
  • Build and maintain integrations with internal APIs and third-party platforms.
  • Administer and extend CMS platforms, including Sanity and Sitecore.
  • Design and implement CMS data models, workflows, and UI customizations.
  • Contribute to front-end architecture, technical strategy, and tooling decisions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with designers, product managers, engineers, and external vendors.
  • Ensure code quality through testing, documentation, code reviews, and adherence to best practices.
  • Optimize applications for performance, accessibility, SEO, and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Mentor and support team members, fostering a collaborative and learning-focused environment.
  • Stay informed on emerging front-end technologies, frameworks, and industry trends.
  • Participate in incident response, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
