About The Position

The position is for a Full Stack Software Developer within General Motors' Vision and Automation Services (VAAS) team. The role involves developing scalable software solutions to support manufacturing processes, utilizing various technologies including Java, Angular, and cloud platforms. The developer will engage in both on-site and remote work, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative IT solutions that enhance manufacturing quality and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of professional full stack software development experience.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of Java and SQL.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of UI Frameworks (Angular, React).
  • Experience with Spring Boot and multi-threaded development.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, Kubernetes, Docker, and HPC platforms.
  • Excellent understanding of software development best practices.
  • Experience integrating applications with multiple enterprise-level services.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and optimizing production applications.
  • Experience working in an agile environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with production AI/ML models and pipelines.
  • Object Store / S3 experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop scalable software solutions based on detailed business requirements and supported technology architecture.
  • Demonstrate experience and proficiency in technology platforms such as Java, TFS Build/Release Automation, UI Framework Development, API Framework Development, and more.
  • Drive technical efforts that lead to success in software project delivery.
  • Engage in development team activities associated with brainstorming new solutions and refining current solutions.
  • Identify and remediate software opportunities related to code quality, security, and usability refinement.
  • Mentor and coach new and experienced software developers.
