Senior Front End Software Engineer
About The Position
The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and testing software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products, including cloud-based or internet-related tools for internal consumption. The incumbent will provide technical solutions to enable the company to meet its strategic objectives through effective collaboration with business analysts, quality assurance testers, and project managers. The incumbent will collaborate with others to ensure successful teamwork, effective development, and delivery of high-quality software solutions. The Senior Software Engineer enforces engineering best practices, secure coding standards, and thorough code reviews while improving system performance, scalability, and reliability. The role partners closely with Architecture, Platform, Product, UX, QA, and Operations teams to deliver cloud‑native, containerized, and microservices‑based solutions and to execute long‑term technical roadmaps focused on modernization and platform enhancements. This position is not hybrid/remote and will be located at our Cleveland Headquarters office.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field. In lieu of a degree, at least 7 years of experience in software development
- 4-6+ years of experience in software development in the software development industry including end‑to‑end ownership of complex, production‑critical features or systems
- In-depth knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies and best practices
- In-depth knowledge of software development tools, platforms and languages
- Experience in developing, integrating, testing and deploying cloud-based software solutions or internet-related tools
- Knowledge of relational databases and SQL
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in developing Microservices and in-depth knowledge of various Integration patterns
Nice To Haves
- Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP) or equivalent certification
- Front-end development experience
- NextJS, TypeScript
- React (or equivalent modern framework)
- HTML5, CSS3, modern CSS frameworks or methodologies
- Experience working with RESTful APIs
- Experience with JSON
- Experience with Docker
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, JenkinsX, Argo, Azure DevOps)
- Experience contributing to technical roadmaps with a 6–12 month planning horizon, including migrations, upgrades, or architectural improvements
- Prior responsibility for system-level or feature-level architectural decisions impacting scalability and long-term maintainability
- Experience working closely with Architecture, DevOps, or Platform teams to improve system reliability and delivery efficiency
- Demonstrated ability to balance technical debt reduction with ongoing feature delivery and business priorities
Responsibilities
- Support software planning cycles and provide feedback on product / project estimates
- Analyze business requirements and create technical specifications to implement the requirements
- Design software, applications and database enhancements or new products in alignment with business requirements and technical specifications defined
- Develop, build and test software systems or applications to meet business requirements
- Write high-quality, maintainable, and scalable code in various programming languages
- Conduct bug fixes to identify and remediate defects in software solutions
- Create and maintain technical documentation including code comments, design documents, and user manuals
- Collaborate with business analysts, quality assurance testers, and project managers to ensure that software solutions meet business requirements
- Provide technical support to end-users to ensure proper use of software solutions
