About The Position

At Workday, we are seeking a Senior Front End Engineer to join our AI Agent Engineering team. This role is critical in defining the tooling strategy and ensuring our AI-driven solutions integrate seamlessly within the Workday stack. You will be instrumental in shaping the user experience and developer productivity for our next generation of AI-powered features. This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your deep front-end expertise to build impactful, scalable solutions that redefine how businesses operate.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in front-end software development with a demonstrated commitment to delivering an exceptional user experience.
• 5+ years of experience with Javascript and/or Typescript.
• 3+ years of experience with React + Redux, HTML, CSS.
• 2+ years of experience leading projects.
• Excellent knowledge of software engineering best practices and agile development processes.
• Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• 3+ years of experience using testing frameworks like Jest, Enzyme, or React Testing Library.
• 1+ years of experience using frontend build tools like Webpack, Parcel, or Rollup.
• 1+ years of experience with backend development experience with Python (Flask/FastAPI/Django, PostgreSQL on AWS).
• 1+ years of experience with CI/CD and Github Actions.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with web UI accessibility (a11y).
• Experience with UI performance optimization.
• Experience with data visualization concepts and libraries.
• Experience with building or integrating rich online editors.
• Experience with databases (relational and non-relational) and ORMs.
• Experience with AWS, or similar cloud computing platforms.

Responsibilities

• Own new and existing UI features in our React application, from technical design to release.
• Own the developer experience of Frontend development via continuous improvements to our UI infrastructure and tooling.
• Own the frontend build pipeline and make it more robust and efficient.
• Write high-quality, easy-to-maintain-and-extend code with plenty of tests and built-in observability.
• Work as part of an Agile team in a collaborative environment.
• Have a major impact on the professional growth and productivity levels of your teammates through design and code reviews, technical guidance, and mentoring.
