E-Space is bridging Earth and space to enable hyper-scaled deployments of Internet of Things (IoT) solutions and services. We are building a highly-advanced low Earth orbit (LEO) space system that will fundamentally change the design, economics, manufacturing and service delivery associated with traditional satellite and terrestrial IoT systems. As a Senior FPGA Board Design Engineer, you will participate in the development and test of FPGAs for E-Space satellite avionics. You will work collaboratively with engineers of various disciplines and participate in all aspects of FPGA and electrical hardware development, from requirements definition through design, validation, and testing. This position is based in Saratoga, CA.

  • Develop FPGA architecture and requirements in collaboration with other engineering disciplines
  • Develop FPGA RTL code for Microsemi and other devices in either Verilog or VHDL
  • Perform design verification including simulations, test benches, timing analysis and hardware testing
  • Develop documentation for FPGA operation and interfacing with other SW and FPGA systems
  • Develop and participate in test campaigns, ranging from unit level to automated testing at the subsystem and system level
  • 7+ years of experience in FPGA development in Verilog or VHDL from design to verification and testing
  • Proficient in PCB design and reading schematics
  • Deep understanding of embedded software
  • Demonstrated success working in a dynamic environment
  • Bachelor's/ Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
  • Design proficiency with Microsemi devices and tools
  • Experience with FPGAs and embedded systems in a radiation environment, including SEU/SEL impact and mitigation within spacecraft avionics
  • Proficiency with lab tools and working with hardware
  • Proficiency with JIRA
  • Proficiency with Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout
  • Embedded software development skills for ARM core processors
