About The Position

The Senior Food & Beverage Buyer is responsible for supporting the Purchasing / Warehouse team at Dreamscape’s Rio Las Vegas Hotel & Casino. The position will directly support the Purchasing Director with sourcing and purchasing various food, beverage and commodities to support operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum five (5) years of related purchasing experience in a casino, hotel, warehouse, food manufacturing, grocery/retail, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong organizational skills, solution-driven, analytical thinker.
  • Ability to negotiate terms that are favorable to the business and customers.
  • Good knowledge of purchasing principles, practices and methods used in a competitive procurement environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proactive with an attention to detail.
  • High School Diploma or GED (required)
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, gaming and local regulations.
  • Must be able to work under time constraints and within established deadlines.
  • Must regularly lift and/move up to 25 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain exceptional customer service at every interaction.
  • Negotiate pricing, contract terms and analyze vendor performance.
  • Evaluate current and prospective suppliers to determine supply capabilities, transportation logistics and inventory control management.
  • Maintain proper ordering procedures, resolution processes and historical data to ensure effective inventory control to maximize sales and minimize excess.
  • Approve and issue purchase orders.
  • Support departments with sourcing options and any entering PO information into database.
  • Actively demonstrate business acumen in regard to purchasing, economics, ethics, accounting, business law and federal laws as applicable.
  • Perform other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
