About The Position

The Madison Beach Hotel is seeking a seasoned Senior Food and Beverage Manager to lead and elevate our dining and beverage services. This role demands a strategic and hands-on leader who can seamlessly combine operational excellence with outstanding guest experiences, driving revenue growth and maintaining our reputation for quality and hospitality.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a senior food and beverage management role, preferably within the hotel or hospitality industry.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of food and beverage operations, including inventory management and budgeting.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Excellent customer service orientation and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with local health and safety regulations in Madison, CT.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant certifications or degree in hospitality management is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all food and beverage operations, ensuring exceptional service and compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Work with the Executive Chef to develop and implement menus, promotions, and pricing strategies to maximize profitability.
  • Manage and mentor a team of food and beverage staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Monitor budget, control costs, and analyze financial reports to ensure targets are met.
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance guest satisfaction and drive repeat business.
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for optimal supply and cost efficiency.
  • Stay current with industry trends and incorporate innovative ideas to enhance service offerings.
  • Assists in development and execution of various marketing strategies.
  • Implements and maintains effective two-way communication systems which reach all employees.
  • Manages in compliance with established company policies and procedures, along with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
  • Teach, implement, and reward employees in utilizing their empowerment to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Ensures staff demonstrates technical skills; conducts technical training on a regular basis.
  • Updates staff on regular basis on menu highlights.
  • Monitors presentation of food product and reviews areas of concern with the Culinary team.
  • Monitors service and teamwork on a regular basis and counsels employees when necessary.
  • Ensures that staff is utilizing up selling techniques while providing customer service.
  • Conducts effective employee meetings and counseling sessions.
  • Participates in weekly staff meetings.
  • Ensure a safe and sanitary work environment for all employees and guests.
  • Maintain and enforce all SOP and service standards.
  • Assist in ensuring that all administrative functions are performed accurately and on a timely basis including payroll, accounts payable, inventory and product ordering.
  • Consistently trains on elevated service via set training initiatives.
  • Learns, understands, and refers to the Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of this position.
