About The Position

The Senior Flight Test Instrumentation Engineer at Boeing will lead teams in developing and operating flight instrumentation electro/mechanical design solutions to support multi-program test activities. This role requires strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills, with a focus on ensuring flight instrumentation system readiness and data validity. The position involves collaboration with various technical disciplines and may require travel to alternate test sites.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 9+ years of experience in lab test, flight test, or similar test environment.
  • 9+ years of experience in an engineering role.
  • Ability to accurately differentiate between colors for safety of flight and safety of test displays during real-time flight test missions.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering.
  • 1+ years of experience designing special test equipment for flight programs and supporting proposals.
  • 1+ years of experience with precision test and measurement devices.
  • 3+ years of experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) or something similar.
  • 9+ years of experience with flight test, flight operations, or system test.

Responsibilities

  • Leads others in the development of standard test methods and processes and applies advanced test technologies to create or improve test methods.
  • Writes invention disclosures to protect Boeing Intellectual Property.
  • Prepares R&D proposals and presents to internal management and external customers.
  • Applies emerging industry technologies to develop test procedures.
  • Reviews critical procedures to identify potential problems and resolve issues.
  • Develops innovative metrology design techniques, processes, methods, or concepts.
  • Oversees the integration of new design and manufacturing techniques into test hardware/system designs.
  • Analyzes processes for potential improvements and recommends associated changes.
  • Develops the standard policies for post-test activity.
  • Resolves or oversees resolution of special test procedures.
  • Works with the enterprise test and engineering group to standardize evaluation techniques.
  • Formulates expectations for test data for new or unique tests.
  • Trains and coaches others.
  • Works under consultative direction.
