Aquarion Water Company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Eversource.Job SummaryA position is available in the Fleet Services group for a Senior Fleet Services Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations related to preventative and emergency repairs for over 220 company vehicles and ancillary equipment. They will have a shared responsibility for an annual expense and capital budget of between $1M - $1.5M each. The position directly supervises Fleet Services Technician and seasonal employees.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a high school diploma and at least two (2) years of advanced technical school training are required
  • Five (5) plus years’ experience required.
  • Possess a good understanding of current On-Board Diagnostics for the major domestic automobile manufactures.
  • Must be able to successfully complete the State of Connecticut Emissions Certification Training Program.
  • Must be able to obtain and hold a valid State of CT DOT medical card

Responsibilities

  • Determine daily work schedule utilizing fleet management software, manage and prioritize emergencies and scheduled work.
  • Determine optimum preventative maintenance schedule for vehicles and perform required maintenance.
  • Determine external resource requirements and materials, select vendors, and maintain contractual relationships.
  • Generate purchase requisitions for maintenance and capital equipment as well as process all vendor related invoices.
  • Select and procure new vehicles based on organizational needs within corporate guidelines. Manage all vehicle documentation for the life of each vehicle.
  • Administer accident management reporting and act as liaison with insurance company.
  • Maintain asset management database of all registered vehicles and associated equipment subject to audit inspection for insurance purposes.
  • Manage all state vehicle permits, i.e. registrations, DOT records, flashing light permits, etc.
  • Perform all diagnostics and repairs on vehicles and ancillary equipment.  Service, maintain, and repair company vehicles of all types, and heavy equipment of varying types (trucks, engines, pumps, generators, etc.).
  • Manage the fleet fuel management program.
  • Administer registrations, perform emission testing, and other administrative duties as required.
  • Perform welding and fabrication as required.
  • Special projects related to general building maintenance as required.
  • Assist facilities manager on an as needed basis.
  • Coordinate PTO with facilities manager to ensure a facilities representative is on site daily.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds for 10 minutes.
  • Must be able to drive, stand, bend, and kneel for prolonged periods of time.  Possess good computer skills with a proficiency in Microsoft software platform and ability to learn specialized asset management and preventive maintenance software required.
