About The Position

AMETEK Power Instruments is seeking a Sr. Firmware Engineer to develop embedded firmware for Power Instruments products, including Universal Powerline Carrier, Disturbance Recorders and High Accuracy Revenue Meters. Design and implement firmware to meet operating specifications and performance standards. Conduct regression testing and develop automated test procedures. Collaborate with Test Engineers to define and validate test specifications. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance. Work with Product Managers to analyze customer requirements, assess feasibility and develop specifications and schedules to deliver required features. Perform internal type testing to ensure compliance with industry standards and timing requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics or Computer Engineering
• 10 years’ experience in embedded systems development, including C/C++ Programming
• digital signal processing and filter designs
• operating system fundamentals with hands-on experience in Linux and real-time operating systems (RTOS)
• device driver development
• electronics debug
• hardware interfaces such as I2C, SPI, Ethernet and USB
• communication protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP and MQTT
• version control software such as SVN, Perforce or similar tools
• development environments including GCC, Eclipse and comparable tool chains
• 3 years’ experience in architecting products for high-speed data acquisition and processing
• coordinating development activities
• providing technical leadership
