About The Position

The Senior Financial Systems Analyst is responsible for the strategic ownership, support, and enhancement of Guidewire financial and insurance platforms to ensure accurate financial processing, reporting, and regulatory compliance. This role partners closely with Finance, Accounting, IT, and Insurance Operations to design, optimize, and govern Guidewire systems (BillingCenter, PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter) and related financial integrations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Financial Systems Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, or similar role.
  • Hands-on experience with Guidewire (BillingCenter required; PolicyCenter and/or ClaimCenter preferred).
  • Strong understanding of insurance accounting and financial processes.
  • Experience reconciling Guidewire data to general ledger systems.
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools.
  • Experience gathering requirements and supporting system implementations or upgrades.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain Guidewire applications, with a focus on BillingCenter and financial integrations across PolicyCenter and ClaimCenter.
  • Act as a liaison between Finance, Accounting, IT, and business users to translate financial and operational requirements into Guidewire system solutions.
  • Lead complex financial system configurations, including multi-entity billing, premium allocation, commissions, and general ledger integrations, ensuring data integrity and efficient financial workflows across the organization.
  • Analyze premium, billing, receivables, commissions, refunds, claims payments, and financial transactions within Guidewire.
  • Configure and support Guidewire financial processes, rules, and workflows.
  • Ensure accurate data flow between Guidewire and downstream financial systems (e.g., general ledger, data warehouse).
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliation of Guidewire sub-ledgers to the general ledger.
  • Participate in the design, test, and implementation of system enhancements, upgrades, and integrations related to Guidewire.
  • Perform system testing (UAT, regression testing) and validate financial accuracy.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot financial discrepancies, billing issues, and system defects.
  • Develop and maintain financial reports, dashboards, and extracts from Guidewire data.
  • Create and maintain system documentation, business requirements, and process flows.
  • Provide guidance on system design decisions, evaluate downstream financial impacts, supports audit and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate with Guidewire vendors, system integrators, and internal IT teams as needed.
  • Mentor junior analysts to promote scalable, best-practice solutions.
  • Provide end-user training and ongoing support for Guidewire financial processes.
  • Perform other duties as required.
