About The Position

Analyzes, verifies, authorizes, processes and reports related financial information in support of a specific field or a business unit operation. Designs, develops and implements systems or procedures resulting in the accurate reporting financial or system data. Guides Financial Analysts and support staff in completion of projects and duties. Job Responsibility Analyzes, verifies, tracks and reports on financial indicators (e.g. accounts receivables, account coding and charging, cash flow, budgets, GL, P&L, statistical data and reserves) in support of a specific field or business unit operation. Reports on results on monthly, quarterly and/or annual basis. Researches, tracks and reports on statistical variances. Reports discrepancies to Supervisor/Manager. Designs, develops and modifies systems and procedures to enhance departmental processing as needed. Responsible for ensuring maintenance of proprietary databases including data integrity, timeliness of data input and accuracy of data. Conducts internal audits to ensure compliance to departmental policies and procedures, and state and federal regulations. Maintains compliance with various state, federal, and industry standards and regulations.. Operates under limited guidance and work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience, required.

Nice To Haves

  • Develop and distribute clinical research financial reports in collaboration with the Research Intelligence Finance Office lead.
  • Partner with PIs and study teams to manage federally funded clinical research budgets and monitor spending.
  • Oversee post‑award financial operations, including sponsor payments, subcontract/vendor invoices, billing, AR, reconciliation, and study closeout.
  • Provide advanced oversight of sponsored project finances, including subaward monitoring, burn‑rate analysis, and RPPR‑related financial verification.
  • Lead complex financial analyses across budgets, cash flow, reserves, and GL activity, delivering insights and recommendations to leadership.
  • Manage monthly/quarterly financial cycles and ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with institutional standards.
  • Strengthen financial systems, data integrity, and internal controls, driving workflow improvements, automation, and audit readiness.
  • Serve as a cross‑functional financial partner and mentor, resolving complex issues with research administration/compliance teams and guiding junior analysts
  • Advanced Excel and data visualization software (Tableau, Power BI) experience required.
  • Experience managing post-award financials for federally funded clinical research studies, preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow projects through completion.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deadlines.
