About The Position

The Sr. Financial Analyst is responsible for detailed analytical support to improve business performance. This position assists with providing financial and operational analytics, budgeting and forecasting, provides trend analysis, and business insights. This position reports to the Senior Director of Finance and Accounting.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics.
  • 1-3 years experience in Finance or related field.
  • Ability to utilize all aspects of technology, including computer hardware and software.
  • Strong fluency with Excel formulas and functions.
  • Ability or familiarity with Google Sheets, MS Access, Abila / Sage, Microix.
  • Strong analytical and data gathering skills.
  • Good business acumen.
  • Communication: Expresses oneself clearly in conversations and interactions with others and ensures that information is shared with others who should be informed.
  • Collaboration: Develops, maintains, and strengthens partnerships with others inside or outside the organization who can provide information, assistance, and support.
  • Customer Service: Demonstrates an understanding of the SMM mission by ensuring that their own interactions with internal and external customers consistently support the mission.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the Development and Maintenance of Models
  • Manage Monthly Analytical Data
  • Set up monthly meetings with Finance and Accounting to review monthly close status
  • Update monthly models and reporting and review with Senior Financial Analyst
  • Report any questions or changes needed to Accounting
  • Run final reports and distribute
  • Investigate variances between budget and actuals independently.
  • Assist in Annual Budgeting and Quarterly Forecasting Process
  • Update timeline and set up meetings
  • Prepare and update tracking sheet
  • Prepare and distribute templates
  • Ensure data is received and updated
  • Run preliminary reports for review by Senior Financial Analyst.
  • Send final reports.
  • Be self-directed and use data to help management make decisions.
  • Performs other related duties, including project work, as assigned.
