Reporting to the Director, Finance Business Partner (FBP), the Senior Financial Analyst supports TC Media Books and its divisions by providing financial analyses and recommendations to support decision‑making and contribute to strategic objectives. This role involves close collaboration with operational teams to understand their activities, identify opportunities and risks, and support optimal resource allocation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in financial analysis or accounting.
  • Excellent proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; Power BI and financial modeling are assets.
  • Strong command of both French and English, spoken and written (regular interactions with stakeholders located outside Canada).

  • CPA designation preferred (or in progress).

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret financial data to assess performance and profitability.
  • Prepare financial reports and KPIs, highlighting trends, opportunities, and variances.
  • Conduct financial analyses and formulate strategic recommendations.
  • Contribute to the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and management presentations.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to support financial initiatives and strategies.
  • Participate in special projects and respond to ad hoc requests from management.
  • Support strategic objectives and business development initiatives of the business units as needed.
  • Support operational analysis, including cost analysis and savings related to continuous improvement.
  • Participate in project evaluations, monitor project progress, and perform post‑project analyses for investment projects.
