About The Position

Amazon.com seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to drive insights and reporting related to Amazon.com traffic. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to provide financial partnership towards the development of new mechanisms to better understand the impact of traffic on performance. As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will closely work with business and finance leaders to develop financial models for both short and long term business and financial goals, evaluate new business opportunities, and drive business initiatives for projects with strategic significance and high exposure. This is a high visibility role, working across multiple teams in Amazon. Additional responsibilities include weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting of financial performance and ad-hoc business analysis support. This role requires a self-starter and independent individual with strong financial modeling abilities, problem solving skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous situations. The successful candidate will have shown experiences in past roles influencing business owners and supporting decision-making in rapidly evolving environments. This is a high visibility role, and has regular interaction with executives and various business units across Amazon, and therefore requires strong interpersonal and communication skills. In addition, this role requires strong business sense and capability to independently drive business partnership. Requirements

  • 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice To Haves

  • 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
  • 4+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
  • 4+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards), or experience using Oracle

Responsibilities

  • Proactively track changes in traffic patterns and provide updates to leadership
  • Assist in the development of tools to better understand changes in traffic patterns
  • Partner across teams to anticipate business requirements, trends, and variances; develop action plans; measure and analyze results; identify and drive growth and improvement opportunities.
  • Manage financial and operational performance metrics for your business e.g. Weekly Business Reviews
  • Uphold and enforce an environment of ethical practices and strong financial controllership

Benefits

  • Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market.
  • Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
