About The Position

Under the supervision of the CFO, the Senior Financial Analyst plays a key role in financial decision-making by supporting and executing financial analysis and planning processes. The Senior Financial Analyst works closely with senior leadership, programmatic leadership, the accounting team and the revenue cycle team to complete the job duties. The Senior Financial Analyst prepares budgetary and contractual reporting internal and external to the organization. In addition, the Senior Financial Analyst will assist with complex operational and monthly financial statement tasks of the Accounting Department, including regular forecasting of P/L and cash flow. Requirements

  • BA or BS in Accounting with a minimum of five years analytical experience using complex financial system.
  • Basic understanding of GAAP.
  • Demonstrated strong computer skills including spreadsheets, database, word processing, and accounting software.
  • Fluency with Excel spreadsheet software required.
  • Advanced experience in spreadsheet report preparation, contract reporting and compliance monitoring, and analytical work.
  • Demonstrated acumen in financial statement preparation, contract management, reporting and compliance monitoring, account reconciliation, analytical work, and audit work paper preparation.
  • Ability to have meticulous attention to detail relative to financial analysis.
  • Ability to work within tight timelines.
  • Ability to communicate analysis and findings to management
  • Commitment to Center’s cultural competence, recovery, and growth initiatives.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.
  • Requires sitting, standing, light lifting, bending, and reaching; and the ability to use and operate standard office equipment, including computer, calculator, phone, printer, cell phone, facsimile, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • CMA/CHFP certification or eligible
  • Experience in not-for-profit accounting and compliance issues.
  • Experience in the healthcare industry.
  • Experience with Great Plains Dynamics accounting software.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Analysis and Reporting Develop and prepare revenue and cost analyses for forecasting and rate-setting.
  • Create financial models based on analyses to support organizational decision making including P/L projections and cash flow projections Review and present financial reports and analyses to management and attend meetings as needed.
  • Contract Compliance and Reporting Read and understand contracts and reporting requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with Uniform Grant Guidance WI DHS Audit Guide and Allowable Cost Policies.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual and grant accounting.
  • Work with Senior Accountant to ensure compliance with GAAP reporting.
  • Complete and/or review required contract and financial reporting to county, state, and federal agencies.
  • Complete and/or review required contract and financial reporting to other agencies and external parties.
  • ‪ Prepare contract and grant proposals as needed.
  • Budgeting Preparation and review of internal operational and capital budget.
  • Analyze budget variances for various accounts in multiple programs and report results regularly to CEO and Senior Leadership team Assist in monthly tracking and analysis of staffing and wages across cost centers.
  • Based on the contracts, identify areas where staffing changes can be considered.
  • Accounting and Audit Functions Assist with complex operational and monthly financial statement tasks, including journal entries, allocations, reconciliations, and invoicing, as needed.
  • Assist with audit work paper preparation.
  • Other Participate in the Center’s initiative toward cultural competence.
  • Attend meetings as required.
  • As determined by Supervisor, perform other necessary functions as needed.
