About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Financial Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting financial analysis, preparing financial reports, and ensuring accurate month-end accounting. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in accounting or related field
• Demonstrated advanced Microsoft Excel skills (i.e. Vlookups, Pivots, Sumifs)
• Five years of accounting experience.

Nice To Haves

• Three or more years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
• CPA, CMA, or MBA / MSA
• Experience using Oracle EBS and / or PowerBI or similar reporting access
• Willing to relocate for future job opportunities within Nucor

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough financial analysis to support business decisions.
• Identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
• Prepare and present detailed financial reports to management.
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end close processes.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries.
• Review and analyze financial statements for accuracy and compliance.
• Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
• Work closely with other departments to gather and analyze financial data.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic initiatives.
• Assist in audits and compliance activities as required.
