About The Position

The Senior Financial Analyst position at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania is a pivotal role that provides essential financial support to various departments, including Executive Education, Wharton Research Data Services, and Wharton Interactive. This position is designed for an individual who is not only enthusiastic and curious but also collaborative and committed to delivering strategic financial insights that align with the mission of the Wharton School. The successful candidate will report directly to the Associate Director of Revenue Enterprise and will be responsible for a range of financial management tasks that are critical to the operational success of the departments involved. Key responsibilities include managing the accounting close process, tax reporting, contract management, revenue cycle oversight, and royalty calculations. The Senior Financial Analyst will also engage in financial analysis activities such as budgeting, forecasting, variance reporting, and conducting pre and post-program profit and loss analyses. This role requires a thorough understanding of university policies and procedures to ensure compliance across business units, as well as the ability to provide financial training to staff as needed. The ideal candidate will be proactive, eager to learn, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously while working across diverse business groups. In addition to technical financial skills, the role demands exceptional communication abilities, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with staff and faculty at various levels throughout the university. The candidate should possess strong interpersonal skills, a problem-solving mindset, and a customer service orientation, embodying a sense of ownership in their work. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential, and familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM systems is preferred but not mandatory.
