About The Position

Role Overview: The Senior Financial Analyst, TV Networks will report to the Manager, TV Networks and serve as key member of the Controllership Group within the TV Networks Group at Versant Media. The TV Networks Group includes the best brands in the industry, including MSNBC, CNBC, E!, Oxygen, SyFy, USA Network and various sports properties that air on these networks. This role provides an outstanding opportunity to learn about the entertainment industry. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical capabilities, a keen attention to detail, and a collaborative approach to support the monthly and quarterly financial close processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of Accounting and/or Finance experience, preferably in the entertainment industry.
  • Knowledge of general accounting practices and financial accounting standards.
  • Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and transparency.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a publicly traded company or a Big 4 accounting firm a plus.
  • Understanding of U.S. GAAP and SOX compliance requirements is preferred.
  • Base proficiency in ERP systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support the monthly and quarterly financial close process for the TV Networks organization, ensuring accurate and timely recording of transactions in accordance with U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and company policies
  • Prepare and post journal entries with a focus on linear distribution, advertising, and other revenue streams
  • Maintain and complete assigned Blackline account reconciliations, ensuring timely certification, proper backup, and resolution of reconciling items
  • Support preparation and delivery of regular and ad hoc reporting packages for financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow) and management review
  • Assist in maintaining and improving close documentation, reconciliation standards, and recurring processes
  • Assist with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance activities by maintaining and updating control documentation and supporting audit requests
  • Collaborate across the broader Controllership & Finance organizations to support consistency, alignment, and effective execution of close and reporting processes
