About The Position

The Senior Financial Analyst- Trade role is a Business Partner role to the GPN Americas CCO (customer sales) team. GPN Americas is a +$1B organization encompassing all sales of ON, think!, Isopure, BSN and Amazing Grass brands across the North American and South American markets. This role will have close commercial involvement across all brands and regions within GPN Americas, with primary focus on trade spend. The role will be responsible for working directly with the sales teams and other cross functional partners to ensure complete tracking of projected and actualized trade spend to ensure spend is accurately recorded, in line with GPN's accounting policies, and analyzed against budgeted/forecasted costs. Responsibilities include month end tasks, financial reporting and analytics, and budget planning. In addition, this person will manage a team consisting of 1-2 individuals responsible for the auditing and clearing of deduction activity, while interfacing with an additional overseas team. These direct reports will audit deductions to ensure accuracy, and will identify, dispute, and recover invalid deductions taken through communications with the commercial team and external customer contacts. The Senior Financial Analyst - Trade reports directly to the Director- Trade Finance.

Requirements

  • Advanced skills in Excel (Required). Able to manage multiple data sets
  • Ability to facilitate meetings, drive results, and implement change
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP and Business Objects
  • Able to work independently and strong analytical skills (problem solving, evaluation, and judgment)
  • Strong organizational skills with demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail
  • Must be able to work in a fast pace environment, and adapt to changes in the company
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • BA Accounting/Finance Degree or related field
  • Three years of experience working in Corporate Finance and/or Accounting preferred

Nice To Haves

  • MBA and/or CPA/CA is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with commercial team to deliver corporate goals
  • Prepare month-end reviews and drive discussions
  • Perform in-depth analysis of deductions received such as trending, forecasting, and SKU level grouping
  • Proactively identify trends and assist in implementing processes to continuously improve accuracy and efficiency of deductions and to prevent invalid deductions
  • Prepare month-end trade spend accrual journal entries
  • Make decisions that will directly impact the organization's cash flow & profitability
  • Provide ad hoc deduction and trade spend reporting and analysis
