UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking an excellent Senior Financial Analyst with exceptional communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills to be used for the dynamic and growing department of Sponsored Programs. In this role, you will join our Clinical Finance team. You will be responsible for working with our clinical research budgets, billing, revenue, reconciliation of accounts, grants award closeout, and our ClinCard system. This team is growing due to emphasis to move clinical billing and budgeting centrally at the University. Our ideal candidate has advanced analytical abilities including knowledge/experience with pivot tables, V-lookups, use of macros to further analysis, and reviewing financial information related to clinical research and the ongoing maintenance, reporting or closeout processes similarly as our post-award teams. You will be responsible for special projects utilizing additional analysis tools such as queries and reports downloaded from PeopleSoft to effectively work through the day-to-day tasks of this role. As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will complete a variety of complex monthly financial management reports and review all reports for errors and inconsistencies. You will analyze variations in forecasts and actual performance, determine reasons for variance, and develop recommendations for improvement. Additionally, you will prepare and/or supervise the preparation of monthly financial reports, schedules for annual financial reports, and reports to various government agencies, ensuring conformance of such reports with applicable procedures and regulations of the University of Texas System and Federal and State agencies. You will identify areas of poor performance, present findings, and make recommendations to upper management. Furthermore, you will prepare financial models and conduct financial analyses, maintain controls for policies and procedures for the financial system, and complete more complex special projects as requested.
