About The Position

The Senior Financial Analyst II - FP&A serves as a strategic business consultant to various lines of business, providing financial analysis and guidance to support key decisions and initiatives. This role involves preparing management information, evaluating financial performance, and developing financial forecasts and plans. The analyst collaborates across the Finance division to ensure data integrity and sound financial controls, while also supporting reporting for senior leadership and regulatory agencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent education and related training.
  • Five years of relevant accounting or finance experience that includes complex financial analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and consider broader implications of analysis.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
  • Master's degree or MBA.
  • Experience in financial services or specialized industry.
  • Proficient in Essbase/Hyperion, EPM/BPC, or other enterprise accounting software.
  • Experience with macros/VBA.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic business consultant to specified lines of business (LOBs) providing financial analysis and guidance.
  • Prepare management information and insights to guide decision making and evaluate financial performance.
  • Support and develop recurring short and long-term financial forecasts and the annual financial plan.
  • Collaborate across the Finance division to ensure integrity of the financials and sound controls.
  • Compile, review, analyze, and submit timely and accurate monthly reporting related to financial performance.
  • Interpret and summarize results and trends for Senior Leadership.
  • Review monthly financial close, forecasting, and annual planning processes for accuracy.
  • Update and automate retrieval of financial information using spreadsheets and databases.
  • Develop and perform testing of economic models as necessary.
  • Maintain working knowledge of GAAP and deepen understanding of complex accounting and profitability nuances.
  • Provide LOB leadership with monthly performance review packages and explanations of changes.
  • Monitor financial performance for specified LOBs to detect unusual changes in business trends.
  • Assist in preparing presentations regarding new business initiatives.
