In keeping with the Mattamy mission of providing The Best Homeowner Experience, the Senior Financial Analyst, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) will be a key business partner in the division and will be responsible for financial modelling, analysis, budgeting, and forecasting. In addition, Mattamy Homes is proud to be a designated CPA Employer and we anticipate that the successful candidate will be eligible to participate in our Mattamy Homes CPA Program, which provides cost and time support towards the attainment of the CPA designation.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a Finance department or public accounting firm
  • CPA designation or nearing completion of CPA.
  • University degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills including regular use of functions, pivot tables, etc.
  • Strong analytical, accounting, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization (Analysts, Managers, VP’s, and non-finance departments).
  • Results oriented with the ability to set realistic and attainable goals and meet those on time.
  • Demonstrates the highest level of ethics and personal integrity.

Nice To Haves

  • Homebuilding and/or land development experience.
  • Ability to learn new software packages and experience with JD Edwards, Hyperion, OneStream or Essbase.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the consolidated GTA Homebuilding reporting financial packages supporting month end, forecast, budget, proforma scenarios and business reviews.
  • Review and consolidate financial results and commentary from the broader team and curate divisional reporting and messaging for all reporting needs.
  • Assist the controllership function by maintaining and proposing accounting entries and preparing JV reporting packages for partners. JV reporting will include assessing cash distributions, partner queries/investigations and JV audit.
  • Support forecasting and budgeting processes, including reviewing the forecasted financial statements, and preparing presentation materials for executive audiences.
  • Coordinate monthly variance analysis processes, ensuring high quality and consistent analysis with commentary that addresses key issues and drivers. Communicate the results with corporate stakeholders and provide updates to division owners.
  • Develop modelling and other analyses to drive initiatives, monitor trends, projections and identify exceptions and to support the budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes.
  • Support the continuous deployment of new forecasting / budgeting tools and the development, implementation and updating of policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Ad hoc requests as required.
