About The Position

Join Amazon's Appstore Finance Team as a Senior Financial Analyst and become the financial strategist behind one of our most innovative digital businesses. You'll partner directly with business leaders to transform complex data into actionable insights that drive strategic decisions across our fast-growing apps ecosystem, helping millions of customers discover and engage with the content they love. As a Senior Financial Analyst on the Appstore Finance Team, you'll be at the intersection of finance and business strategy. Your day might include building sophisticated financial models to evaluate new monetization opportunities, diving deep into performance data to uncover trends that inform product decisions, or presenting key findings to senior leadership that shape our strategic direction. You'll collaborate with product, marketing, and engineering teams across multiple geographies to ensure financial insights are woven into every major initiative. Beyond the numbers, you'll help establish processes and dashboards that empower business leaders to track progress toward goals and identify new opportunities for growth. We are a collaborative finance team dedicated to supporting the Appstore organization as it continues to innovate and scale. We work closely with teams across the company—from product development to customer experience—to understand their challenges and translate financial analysis into strategic guidance. Requirements

  • 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
  • 4+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
  • 4+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
  • 4+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience

Nice To Haves

  • 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
  • MBA, or CPA
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business leaders to understand strategic priorities and translate them into financial analyses that support decision-making around monetization, engagement, and subscription strategies
  • Develop and maintain financial models and analytical tools that enable scenario planning, forecasting, and evaluation of new business opportunities
  • Lead forecasting cycles for the Appstore organization, analyze variances between forecasts and actual results, and communicate insights to finance and business leadership
  • Create and monitor financial and operating performance metrics that track progress toward business goals and highlight risks and opportunities
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses on emerging business questions and present findings and recommendations to senior management
