Under the direction of the Director of Financial Aid, the Senior Financial Aid Counselor at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine (WVSOM) is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the Office of Financial Aid and providing excellent customer service to a diverse population of students. This individual independently manages and executes the full scope of financial aid operations and requires a high level of expertise in federal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations and policies. The Senior Officer will serve as a strategic resource for the institution, ensuring compliance, optimizing processes, and providing exceptional service to students. This is a full-time non-classified position and is non-exempt from FLSA provisions regarding overtime (overtime eligible). Minimum base salary is $50,000, commensurate with education and experience, with full state benefits. This position has been designated as Essential. This means that when WVSOM is faced with an institutional emergency, employees in such positions may be required to remain at their work location or to report to work to protect, recover and continue operations at WVSOM.
