The Office of Financial Aid at Emory University is seeking a Senior Financial Aid Advisor to join their dedicated team. This position plays a crucial role in managing and distributing various forms of financial aid to students, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations. The Senior Financial Aid Advisor will be responsible for awarding federal, state, institutional, and private sources of financial aid, advising students and parents on the availability of financial aid, eligibility requirements, and the application process. This role also involves providing information on scholarship and loan options, alternative financing, and debt management, which are essential for students navigating their financial aid options. In addition to advising, the Senior Financial Aid Advisor will coordinate scholarship and loan/grant programs, as well as fee waiver programs. The advisor will evaluate, develop, and manage federal, state, and institutional aid programs, which includes assessing student eligibility, updating system applications, and ensuring compliance with state and federal reporting requirements. The role also requires assisting with state reconciliation and audit processes, running PeopleSoft processes, and serving as a cross-functional backup for other school clusters as needed. The advisor will participate in the appeals committee, reviewing cases for all schools, and will act as a senior file review specialist, conducting quality assurance reviews. They will serve as a liaison to Student Financial Services and provide training and documentation support to department staff, school liaisons, and Enrollment Services. Additionally, the advisor will disseminate important information to financial aid liaisons by attending meetings and providing updates on changes in regulations and organizational policies. Generating reports as needed and performing related responsibilities are also part of this role.
